Dear Andy,

the edition number of the book can be found on its cover page, in front or at the back of the cover. If you are using electronic books, the ISBN number should be given next to the title of the book, if the website is trustworthy. You can also use googlebooks to find the ISBN of the book you are using. If the book was published in several cities, you need to list all of them in your bibliography, otherwise, you will be not precise in indicating the sources, which may be crucial for some tutors.

How do I know where to find the edition number of books I am using for research? Also, what if a book I am using for research shows that it is published by one company in two different cities simultaneously?

Dear Janet,

it is common for teachers to give the number of pages together with the number of sources in requirements to the paper, you can give them a range, like “cite from 5 to 10 book sources”. In our vision, at least 60% of the paper should be written by a student, only in this way it is his work. Of course, there may be different cases but 80% citations is way too much

just write the title of the book or periodical you’re citing without giving the author’s name. (sample: “Today’s Marketplace” 51)

How much of a college essay paper can be cited? I have students citing 80% if their paper..it just becomes a cut and paste.
